Student Internship
Student Internships connect students with professionals in various fields including but not limited to —scientists, engineers, healthcare workers, laywers, marketing, accountint, and more—for hands-on experiences. These internships, which may be local, around the Houston area, Texas, or out of state, give students real-world exposure in a field they’re passionate and curious about. Positions can be paid or unpaid.
Internships are required for graduation from ACES and earn students academic credit. To qualify, students must complete 14 exploration credits, which include STEM career-focused activities and field experiences. Most internships take place between junior and senior year, though earlier placements are possible with self-arranged opportunities.
Interns are expected to be motivated, responsible, and eager to learn. Mentors provide meaningful tasks, set clear goals, and complete evaluations at both the midpoint and end of the internship. Flexible schedules are encouraged to meet the needs of both intern and mentor.
Students may apply directly or be placed through Education for Tomorrow Alliance (EfTA).
All required documentation is available in the ACES Canvas Course.
